My husband has become increasingly nauseous in the car as the MND has progressed. His neck is now weak but he finds it too hot to wear his collar. This morning he was sick after a short car journey. (He has recently switched from hyoscine patches to atropine drops with no benefit so he's switching back again). Do you know whether this could be due to the MND?

Sorry to hear that Julip.
If I can give an opinion?
Hyoscine is actually an anti motion sickness medicine, so that may have prevented his car sickness to date. Atropine is not and also has nausea and vomiting as a "Very Common" side effect. Can he go back to Hyoscine?
However, given he isn't wearing his collar and if his neck is drooping so much to prevent him from looking out the window - akin to looking at the horizon when on a boat - that may be the culprit for his car sickness.
Depending on the collar, would putting a bit of a cold cotton pillow case - I chill some in the fridge or briefly in freezer - between his neck and the collar help? Obvs don't put anything frozen against skin!
Hope he gets sorted.
