Caring takes many forms and living with MND/ASL can be a very lonely thing. So just being here for us helps more than you know. Thank you ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ™๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ˜xx

Thank you again for these lovely messages. I can not tell you how much they mean to me. I suppose being here, you all truly understand how this disease affects you and im so grateful for all of your kind words, I really am, so is my mum, I have read them to her, To be honest I felt like leaving the forums as it has been so painful but Iโ€™m not, I want to help people going through this as much as possible, I donโ€™t have much practical advice as we seemed to muddle though and only real advice I got through these forums and the truly amazing people here โค๏ธ However I can offer support, and when I feel better I will do everything I can to support those who need it and campaign for this disease to be better funded, researched and better supported. thank you again so much ๐Ÿ˜˜

Thank you for all your replies. My dad died this evening. I am heartbroken. My poor mum has been with him for 56 years, we are all going to be lost without him. He was the most bravest man, he never complained, Iโ€™m so proud of him, it was a peaceful end, I held his hand and talked about all my memories and thanked him for the most amazing life he has given me. Thank you to everyone on these forums with your kind replies over the last year. And Ellie, who I messaged privately a few times who gave me advice. You are all wonderful people โค๏ธ

That's the most pressing thing Jody, you need those results before making any decision, but hospice at home/community palliative nursing is definitely what your dad wants and which should be available to him when needed.

He might need a chest X-ray to check for pnemonia or infection, or a UTI is often the culprit, so IV antibiotics will help.

One thing: you said he's on CPAP - I hope that's just a mistake and that he's actually on BiPAP.

Fingers crossed it's 'just' an infection.

    Big hug to you.

    Love Ellie xx
