    Recommended carer in West London

Our beloved Ivo passed away on April 29. The forum has been a place of invaluable information for me while caring for him. Thank you to everyone for the helpful tips, advice and solidarity .

For the last year we worked with a private carer, Rigo, in the mornings. In addition to help with shaving, showering and short walks when Ivo's chair became too heavy for me to handle, Rigo was a real assistant to Ivo, ready to turn his hand to anything, from getting his computer or iPad set up, changing a lightbulb, to popping to the shops, watering the plants and , crucially, maintaining NIV machines each day. Through his care for Ivo, he is now knowledgeable about the disease, and I believe would be a real asset to anyone needing a few hours of assistance each day. Much as I am grateful to the carers providing continuous care later in the disease, Rigo's efforts were in another league. With his permission, I'm giving his phone number (07932337783) and my email address for anyone seeking more information ([email protected]). Relevant only to those in London, given location.

The very best of luck to all

Aisling Byrne my thoughts are with you. The carers that assist are worth their weight in gold and although i am not at that point yet I am happy to know that some go above and beyond which makes all the difference. All my love x
