Can’t believe what a couple of weeks of stress it’s been supporting my elderly parents and my husband. Now I have covid! In a panic, as my husband has respiratory failure and uses NIV at night a part of the day! What do I do? Apart from keep away!! Any tips or advice welcome.

Sorry to hear you have Covid Lindsay 🥺
Clearly your husband would not do well if he caught Covid given his current situation with his breathing, sadly staying away is your only realistic option to protect him. I know this is difficult but the complications for him from contracting Covid could be extremely serious. I would suggest that he is regularly tested to make sure he is ok.
Are you providing his main care at the moment? Do you need to get in some emergency help?

Lindsay67 do hope services are responding quickly to replace any care you are unable to give your husband and parents, and you are able to get whatever help you need for yourself. If your husband does get it and it’s picked up straight away, he ought to be eligible for this new rapid response ttreatment because of his vulnerability? But a horrid situation for you to be in, do hope it’s not affecting you too much, and you are getting good advice and get over it quickly xDiagnosed July 2020, ALS bulbar onset. PEG and ventilator (mainly at night), and pretty poor speech, but legs still about functioning!

Lindsay67 I've had Covid in the house (my son) and he kept well away from me until he tested negative. I've also been exposed to the virus by a carer (yeah, poor show...) and thankfully remained clear both times - I had 3 jabs when my son had it, 4 jabs when the carer had it.
I tested daily during these periods so, if I should test positive, I would start antiviral meds asap. My breathing is on the floor and I use NIV for about 10hrs per day.
Enough about me 😏 Hope you aren't too poorly and that you recover well. xxDiagnosed 03/2007. Sporadic Definite ALS/MND Spinal (hand) Onset.
Significant bulbar impairment - No functional limbs - No speech - Feeding tube - Overnight NIV - Eye gaze user.

Heavens I don't know what I'd do if I had it but think I'd enquire about respite. I don't even know what we are all supposed to do now to keep everyone safe. Doug has shown us that it's still a problem and they have said numbers are rising again. We haven't had the 2nd booster I don't know what is happening about that.when i can think of something profound i will update this.
