    Cramps/painful muscles

    Hi you all,

I dont know if there is a previous message with my question.

Buth what kind of experience have u all with products to reduce the muscle cramps and really bad painful muscles.

I use at the moment magnesium, fisoil capsules, and vitamine E. I know that there is magnesium oil for cramps in your calves that you can scrub in. Buth i dont know if it really helps.

At the moment i am having really bad muscle cramps when i stretch to much, using my hands to long, walking stairs, and when i carriè my joungest to long..they make me scared of doing the things that i used to do. When i go to bed my calves also camping up..

I am happy to read what ever kind of experience you guys have with products to reduce cramps and painfull muscles.

    Thanks

Anne123 Did you mention this to the Neurogist at your recent appointment? You probably need to be extra careful of taking supplements and meds because of the Crohn's complication, so I'm sure you take medical advice before starting anything new.

Magnesium glycinate is a good form of magnesium to take for cramping muscles and has fewer side effects than quinine sulphate.

Frequent, gentle stretches can help cut down on cramp frequency, as does not letting the muscles get cold.

I found that massaging my legs before bed helps with cramping. If you are not able to do it yourself, see if you can get someone to do it. I use magnesium oil to do it and focus on my calves, which is where I get most of the cramps.

Ellie i didnt mention it to the neurologist because at that moment there was so much information to take in. I have a few appointments this week, also with my ibd docter so i can ask straight away if its oke or not so thats nice.

I use magnesium, fishoil and E a while now, with permission of my ibd doc! So everything thats been talked about goes also to my ibd dc. It takes extra time buth better safe as sorry. Luckely i can call the ibd nurse 4 days a week with questions so it can be discussed sooner with my dc.

I will try the magnesium oil for the calves.!
