At a guess I’d say that it’s wine but I’ve no idea if it’s any good - I’m assuming it is as you are obviously pleased, so congratulations. Will you be drinking it tonight to celebrate?
** Oops! Is it port? (I enquired of the world renowned sommelier, Monsieur G. Oogle who sneered at my ignorance then sniffily told me it was “Port, Madame”.
I had to Google it as well Dina! (but if Doug had posted about finding a bottle of Harveys or Baileys then those would have been names that are much more familiar to me!!). I hadn't heard of Graham's 77 before (athough I've probably listened to some of Graham's 78's on the music threads LOL).
I hope you are enjoying your discovery Doug - or are you saving it for a porticularly important occasion?

What could possibly be more important than a forum party?
Doug has the booze, Barry has the nibbles, Kayleigh will keep us all entertained and I’ll provide the umm... I’ll bring erm... that’s it! I’ll be Beauty. Hmm, I wonder who could be the Beast?

Being a fan of TV quiz shows, I know the perfect 'Beast' for the party.
His favourite subject is food, but he didn't know the answer to 'which pizza is topped with an egg?' (although I'm not an Egghead, I knew the answer to that one!) or the answer to 'what type of gas are crisp packets filled with?':-
I'd want the Beast on my table at the party - along with other bad boys, including my drinking partner Jack Daniels (so that we could have chocolate followed by whisky chasers!).
Ellie's Eggheads might be drinking organic eggnog and perhaps Santa could provide them with some elfy fruit and nut snacks?
I guess Doug and Barry might bring their worldly knowledge & experiences to the Eggheads table? - along with a cheeky offering of Graham's vintage port and a nice selection of cheese! LOL
But will 'naughty but nice' Dina be tempted by the whisky chasers, eggnog or possibly port?
Santa and Mrs Clever Claus could be quizmasters, with the questions being pulled from crackers kept in Santa's sack (mainly nice questions from Santa - but lots of naughty ones from Mrs CC I expect! LOL).

Love Kayleigh x
Ha ha ha! Being naughty means I go for the men every time. I’d be spoilt for choice, wouldn’t I? Who to choose, though? Ladies’ man, Doug - hmm, I wonder if he’s married? Barry with his hidden depths - no, he’s definitely married. Or Graham who, by all accounts, is maturing nicely...

All this talk about food reminds me that I have to make a cake today for the walking group lunch tomorrow. I still socialise with the group which I accompanied in the early days following diagnosis and like the title of this thread started by Dina, for me it’s a celebration.
I am making a chocolate and caramel tray bake. When I was working I would ask my colleagues for a tub of caramel but now I have to make my own.
Today’s good thing is my new tablet cushion. I struggle to hold my tablet but my new cushion stand for it arrived today and it’s already making a huge difference.

So glad you've found an easier way to use your tablet, Dina. So important.
Today's good thing is that I've discovered Gavin and Stacey on Netflix. No idea why I didn't watch it before but its hilarious. Loads more to watch before a Christmas special ! All I need is Barry's chocolate and caramel tray bake while watching.

Love Debbie x
Sorry Debbie there were 36 portions and they all went. I did manage to get one for myself however. It was so good to meet most of the group and I was well looked after because I was the only man on a table with 6 ladies.
Your appeal as a Sugar Daddy is one of your sweetest qualities Barry - and it sounds like you make exceeedingly good homemade cakes!
After being such a busy bunny and beavering around, it's good to hear that, after the walk, you and the ladies enjoyed taking it easy with your chocolate & caramel traybake.
During your career in the sugar industry, did you ever whisper sweet nothings into the ears of this bunny girl? LOL....
Cadbury was one of my clients and many times I would visit the staff shop, yummy. It solved many Christmas present ideas for family members. I was saddened when the British company was bought by American company Kraft Foods who within 2 years closed one of the factories. I suppose today we must accept globalisation but I probably had the best 3 decades in the food industry.
Thank you for sharing more of your special memories with us. Undoubtedly, your memoirs are choc full of interesting and entertaining stories and photographs!
Cadbury's has always been my favourite chocolate and I find the more expensive French brands taste too fancy for me.
Yes, sometimes I've been hopping mad about the decline in British Industry and I understand that even 'Bunnykins' is now owned by a global organisation - but I suppose it's good, at least, that Wedgwood & Royal Doulton are still based in England.
I hope you have an enjoyable and relaxing day, recharging your batteries.
I've had a good idea Barry (well I hope you will think it's a sweet one anyway - and, for all Sugar Daddies, my ideas are always commission and sugar-tax free! LOL).
A chapter of your memoirs could be:-
"Sugar Daddy Barry's recipes for too tempting traybakes and other sweet treats'
... and as the icing on the cake - the Italian Stallion at 'Barry's Trattoria' might be interested in running up an Italian cookery book as well?? - but, of course, he can always say neigh to my cracking idea, if it's way too crackers and not stable enough! LOL.
As always, I've enjoyed our exchange of sweet-talking post this morning. Now I think I'll put my paws on pause for a rest (just for a sweet wee while anyway LOL).
