Hi. I’m‘Terry’s surrogate ‘Grandad’. I’ve been annoying Terry for the past 5 and a half years!!!!
Seriously though, we’re really quite good friends.
I’ve been in to visit Terry a couple of times since he’s been in the specialist hospital. Hoping to see him coming home very soon as long as careers can be found.
Hope this message comes through ok and will keep you informed of his progress.
        Richard.

Thank you for your message Grandad Richard. Terry has mentioned you (and his wonderful days out with you) many times - and it's lovely to say hello to you.

I havn't been annoying/entertaining Terry for as long as you have but he very kindly took me under his wing when I joined the forum - and, as one of the forum's young mother hens who is very fond of Terry, I do worry about him when he is poorly.

I expect Terry is looking forward to getting out into the fresh air and back to his home comforts! I really do hope some tip-top carers can be made available for top-bloke Terry very soon.

It's good to hear you are kindly visiting him in hospital and many thanks for kindly letting us know how Terry is getting on - you are a very kind-hearted Grandad and a top bloke too!

I hope Terry is keeping his strength up (hopefully the hospital food is ok!) and I am sending Terry lots of hugs and get well wishes.

Love and best wishes to you both,
            Kayleigh x

I also thought “granddad” was some ancient chap related to Terry and then I met Richard when he brought TC to a meeting in Cambridge a few years ago. To have a friend like Richard is a blessing and I hope he and Terry can soon resume their days out together.

Richard, when you see Terry give him my love and best wishes.

Sad to hear you are still in hospital Terry. Hopefully they will sort you a care package soon. We have been through this and it can be frustrating but we have a good team who look after Steve, and hope you find one too.

I'm always captivated by you TC - and even behind your Santa disguise, I find your hypnotic cat's eyes, cheeky chuckles, and sunny (& sometimes saucy) sense of humour are purrrfectly irrisistable!

It wouldn't surprise me if the female nurses at the hospital are taken by your captive gaze and they want to keep you all for themselves while you are pawly.

But hopefully the nurses will release you from their TLC well before Valentine's Day - because, don't forget, you promised me a date! (from your very tempting selection of fruit and nut snacks LOL).

                            Love and hugs,
                            The Kitty xx

                              Hi everyone
                              Thanks for your kind words.
Visited Terry this afternoon and we had a good long chat for 2 and a half hours!
Terry was on his usual good, rude and sarcastic form!
He still has discomfort in his neck and back and would dearly love to get to the gym to strengthen his upper body. The only real problem seems to be getting the care package sorted. Living in the countryside is always difficult.
He really misses being able to get on line as there’s no internet where he is.
I think the staff where he is have taken quite a liking to him. He can be such a charmer! So unlike him when we go out together!!!!!
I’m sure we all wish him well.
                              Grandad.

Hi Grandad Richard - nice to meet you!

By the sound of it, Terry's pain seems to be brought under control or lessened substantially at least, which is great.

He could get a dongle for a laptop or SIM card for a tablet to give him Internet access, either through an existing mobile phone account or on a 1 month contract (more expensive) Though we're quite enjoying the break from his usual abuse

Pity any potential carers can't meet him first, then there'd be a queue of them all willing to travel to him. Maybe put an ad up in his gym, he has a posse of young admirers there

Take care Grandad and please keep us posted.

                                Love Ellie.
