    Dina's funeral

Dina's son has asked me to post this information about her funeral.

It will be at 13:40 on Monday 20th January, at Agecroft Crematorium, Salford, M27 8SS. A celebration of her life will be held between 3pm-6pm at Rethink Rebuild Society, Longsight Business Park, Hamilton Road, Manchester, M13 0PD.

Family flowers only, donations to the MNDA.

Dress code: Whatever you are comfortable in.

All on the forum all welcome and, as a family, we thank you for the messages of support and condolence.

I'm not able to attend myself. Yesterday I fell and damaged my left shoulder and am not able to drive.

Thanks for passing these details Doug. I'll pass the information on to my husband to see if we can attend but he's got something in his diary. It depends if it can be changed.

I'm sorry about your fall. I hope that you heal quickly. Lynne

            Thanks Lynne

That's marvellous you're able to go!

My shoulder is pretty painful in certain positions but bearable in others if I keep fairly still.

Ah, hope that your shoulder gets better quickly Doug. I hope that you have strong pain killers for over night. My shoulder was worse overnight until I had 2 cortisone injections in it a couple of weeks ago. I take tramadol and paracetamol before bed most nights and 4 hours later. The only times that I don't is when I have had an alcoholic drink during the evening. Lynne

                  Hello All, especially Doug

I don't post much these days but wanted to let you all know that I attended Dina's funeral service today. My hubby came with me and Lynn and Steve were there also. Two ladies from Salford Royal were also in attendance, It was a beautiful sunny day here in Manchester which has been a first for a while. The birds were chirping when Dina arrived. One of her son's gave a very moving speech about his mum and was wearing one of the jumpers his mum had knitted and Peter's eulogy and poems spoke of the essence of Dina's presence here on the forum. I met her grandbaby who she was so worried about not being able to hold properly....Dina was well travelled - 40 countries and all seven continents twice! She loved crafts, sewing etc and they spoke of her kindness to others and unselfish ways - which we are all aware of on here. Her choice of final song alluded to the fun side of her. It was Tina Turner's 'Disco Inferno.' I'm very glad we were able to attend and it was lovely to meet Lynne too. Just thought I would share with you so you know she was represented by some of us today.

Many, many thanks Kathryn – and Lynne and Steve – for attending. And for letting us know about what was clearly a marvellous celebration of the life of a very special, complex lady who is much missed.

                      Hello Kathryn,

Thank you for kindly letting us know how Dina's funeral went today.

It's lovely to hear about the very fitting way that loved ones and friends paid their respects and celebrated Dina's life.

I will always remember Dina as a very kind and caring lady who generously used her time and many talents to help, comfort and bring joy to others.

I will never forget that Dina had a heart of gold, a sparkling personality and a wonderful (& sometimes cheeky) sense of humour - as well as a love of disco music .. and I imagine her happily dancing along with the angels when 'Disco Inferno' was played during the celebration of her life today.

Love to you and your family. I hope Mr Boiler is as well as possible.

                      Love Kayleigh x

P.S. I often think of you and your husband (especially when I am listening to my favourite Elvis songs!). I realise you must be very busy and so thank you for keeping in touch with us, as often as you can.
