I am moving from one room with an ensuite to a whole 2 bed terrace to live on my own. The stairs will be impossible without help in the future but then why worry about something that hasn't happened yet? 😊x

I think that you ought not move to a 2 bedroom terrace house. Stairs are always steep and soon your legs will likely be effected so stairs and normal bathrooms won’t suit. You need either a ground floor 2 bedroom flat or a bungalow. Each would either have to have a wet-room or be suitable for conversion. We had to move from a 3 bedroomed terrace house to a ground floor 2 bedroomed flat with a wet-room about eighteen months ago. Love Lynne xALS diagnosed November 2017, limb onset. For the 4 yrs previously I was losing my balance.
I'm staying positive and taking each day as it comes.

I love your attitude Matthew but just maybe you should think ahead to what will be easiest for you in the long term. I appreciate this is hard and easier said than done.
Before I was formally diagnosed we moved to a ground floor apartment. I had an en suite initially but eventually we had the bathroom converted to a wetroom. However, we were looking to downsize anyway as our kids had left home so it seemed logical and I was being sensible, for once . The lack of steps means I can now get around in my powerchair and out into the gardens independently.
My MND is limb onset so it may be different for you, of course.
Love Debbie x

I want one last hurrah and I already have plans for a downstairs toilet and a ground floor wet room oh and the living room is big enough for a bed! I may also install a ceiling lift system. Keep on fighting till you're dead! 😊xBulbar started Jan 2020. Mute and 100% tube fed but mobile and undefeated. Stay Strong π€ππ€πxx

I was bulbar on set, for 6 months after diagnosis I continued to be mobile hoping I’d be lucky but once my right foot was affected it’s been a domino effect and I’ve gone from happily walking round London at Christmas time with easy and 6 months later, I’m barely able to stand without assistance but it’s not stopping me to achieve my Goals, make sure the property is big enough for the size lift you’ll need, my OT said my previous property rooms weren’t big enough, MND can be very sneaky
