You've got to laugh!

Hi everyone, hope we're all doing as well as possible during this endless lockdown.

I have been struggling getting on and off my riser recliner as it rises to put me on my feet and as I am no longer weight bearing so it slides me off !. It has been just the ticket for a couple of years.

After googling other chairs I e mailed my wonderful OT to ask if I could have one with retractable sides that lifted to be parallel to my wheelchair for transfers. She found a perfect chair but to get funding it needs to be approved by a a panel. As she can't visit she asked us to send a video of me struggling to transfer on and off my current chair.

Sounds really simple to set up phone and then video hubby helping me. Unfortunately we both started giggling because it seemed such a bizarre thing to video and then everytime he reset the phone we dissolved again. Eventually I was too exhausted to try the transfer any more but at least we had a good laugh.

Reading your story this morning brought a smile to my face as I could picture you and your husband watching the video. I know I shouldn’t be amused by your predicament but sometimes we have to see the funny side of things. I hope you get the funding approved.

Hayls I thought this said superglue. Now I can’t stop giggling! I can so,picture you and hubby struggling Debbie - you have to,laugh or cry! Or maybe do both. Anyway good luck with getting funding.

Finally managed the video ( Take 100 +) It didn't help my giggles that the director, who should know better, wanted to put it to music and told me to put on my struggling face ! Poker face was suggested as a soundtrack.

The thought of this on Harry Hill set me off laughing again.
