I had my power wheelchair assessment last week and much to my surprise I got to take it home on the same day. Since then I have been out everyday and love having some independence back.

So glad you're enjoying your powerchair Jacqui. I've had my Salsa mini for 18 months and like you, I love the independence it gives me.
For some strange reason I resisted having one until wheelchair services " kidnapped " me on a visit to the MND clinic to try one and I loved it .
Wheelchair services are quite happy to make adaptions to the chair if anything is uncomfortable and I have different cushions so make sure you ask if you need anything.

Debbie, I was given a mini salsa too, the cushion is not quiet right, but they have ordered me a different one, which is likely to mean longer out, once I am more comfortable.
My family are a bit nervous about my plans to want to explore and see where I can get too, and came at a good time as I had a driving assessment last week, which showed me I am not going to manage, so having the wheelchair gives me back part of being me.Comment

I’ve got my assessment for power wheelchair in a couple of weeks, my OT said I might not get one she said the last few referrals have been knocked back!! I hope not 🥺Janette xComment
