I'm so glad you are home and happy. Hopefully Stephen get another go soon or I will do it myself 😄

Yes I’m here, at home, and much happier than on that ward. My community support has kicked in so I feel more settled now. Pain is settling and I’m learning to flush the tube and take my meds in a more comfortable way. Denise , I do hope Stephen gets his procedure soon. Good luck.
lizzie 😊

Your post will pop up as soon as it's looked at, Denise - I suspect there are key words which trigger a moderation.

I've gone through the paperwork for Stephens procedure and nothing about no food before hand. Let him dare mention toast or coffee next time 😐 I have recovered from yesterday but what a wasted week.
last time we saw our doctor he said we can collect prescription from local pharmacy. Went to local pharmacy and they said no apparently something going on between hospital and pharmacy and no one signing anything. Ok back to getting it from the hospital. Get home and pharmacy phones to say I can pick up Stephens medication because it's just arrived. So I get to do that today. This is all I've done all week! Friday tomorrow and im doing housework. I hate house work but i hate it less than running around like something possessed. 👹

Yes, Denise. Weird indeed. Perhaps Forum Admin will let us know why.

Hi Ellie,
I don’t come on the forum too often these days, I get so annoyed by those who post because they ‘think’ they have MND. They can have mine if they want it.
Anyway, thanks for the advice about the masks. I’d been on a CPAP for the last four years so I’m quite used to the masks now.
The ventilation team at the Royal Stoke know me quite well now and respond to any problems with utmost urgency.
Hope you are coping ok.
Love Andy

Welcome to the Club, Andy! Great to hear from you.
And remember, if you don't get on with the mask you were given for the Nippy, there are alternatives - don't suffer in silence...
Love Ellie.

Oh Denise, that's so disappointing for you both. - the 'empty stomach' rule should have been made crystal clear to you.
Love Ellie.

Oh no Denise... What a nightmare. I hope you have another appointment soon and you are able to both relax this evening after your horrible day.
Andy, I hope you feel more comfortable soon. Its reassuring to know that it's over very quickly.
Lizzie, I hope you're home soon and you're getting the care you need for your RIG.
Thinking of you all,
Love Debbie x

I had my peg fitted yesterday, have just arrived home along with 2 nippy’s and a cough assist.
The procedure seemed to be over in a couple of minutes.
I’m in some discomfort at moment, just waiting for the paracetamol to kick in. Hopefully the pains will ease in the next few days.

I got up 4.30ish. We had a bit of toast and tea because he will go on and on about wanting something to eat. Our original paperwork said nothing to eat for 3-4 hours before. But on reading the paperwork this was just for a camera. The doctor had explained the procedure and yes it was a camera and then coming through the stomach wall. Another letter came by post explaining the need for covid testing before the procedure on wednesday (no mention of no food) so he had covid test on Monday (6am start) so today we get there. I take him to the ward. I have to go. He can call me tomorrow to pick him up. I drive home (longest journey I have driven in 20 years). I'm tired and I send him a text that I'm home. He immediately calls to say it's been cancelled. I have to drive all the way back. It's because he had something to eat. They will send another letter and i suppose do the whole testing and procedure again. 😣

Seriously my PEG went in and stayed in without any serious pain. Use Aloe Vera on the site and the future is bright! 😊x
