The only thing about the pouches is to make sure the site isn't covered by the material, keep the pouch away from the site. The air should be able to circulate around the site to keep it dry, if covered, nasty bugs can grow on the humid skin.

Ellie, that button thing looks soooo much better. The hanging tube thing just gets in the way. How long does it take before that can be done?
love, Lizzie x
Lizzie, it takes about 2-3 months for the stoma tract to fully form, then the long tube can be switched.
Your tube is probably balloon retained because you had the RIG procedure, so it's a simple replacement. Balloon retained buttons do have more upkeep - mine is changed every 6ish months, takes my husband 3mins - and balloon water is changed regularly, takes 5secs! But I've had buttons for years and love them.

I have found a great one. It sits above the site and keeps the end snug in a bag. So comfortable that I forget I am wearing it. ๐x Screenshot_20201002-100436.png
