Hi Nettie..shoes can make such a difference and what also worked for me was ankle supports for foot drop..I didn't want them at first but they work. The physio advised me to wear trainers in the day when walking about indoors for support. The worst shoes she went on to say are slip ons as they make people claw their feet to hold them on.When I am in the wheelchair say at the shops it doesn't matter what shoes I have on as staying in the wheelchair.I wear nicer shoes if visiting friends but again at this time of year its ankle boots with jeans really. Its trial and error but as shoes are expensive I have not bought any slip ons.The physio also suggested lace ups or a strapped sure for me which actually is better when I do walk short distances mainly indoors with a stick.Good luck with getting sorted Nettie.
