    Dry mouth and throat overnight

Hi.Anyone got any tips for my problem.I take pineapple juice and suck on a piece of pineapple before bed in the last week as recommended by neurologist to combat dry mouth. The problem is if I wake in the night or early hours my mouth and throat are so dry.I drink a little water on waking and it doesn't stop the dryness. It doesnโ€™t keep me awake just unpleasant.Advise welcome.Best wishes.Mary

I think Ellie mentioned Biotene Dry Mouth Gel, but I'm sure she'll be along soon to clarify.

Have you tried artificial saliva? Get Glandosane synthetic saliva. I use the neutral flavour but it does come in other flavours. It changed my life ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜ƒx

        Hi Mary,

There are several gels and sprays available, depending on how dry your mouth is, and for how long. I found the gel that Gary mentioned, suited me. There are also Xylimelts, which work throughout the night, which suits people with prolonged dryness.

Hope you find a good solution - it's often a matter of trial and error, unfortunately...

        Love Ellie.

          Hi Mary,
Like you I have real problems with dry mouth at night and I use the gel and artificial saliva spray but Iโ€™ve recently found something else that really helps , oral mouth sponges. Little sponges on sticks. I just dip them in water or pineapple juice when I wake up with the problem and dab round my mouth . The reach into all areas of the mouth and really help. Love Lizzie x
