    Mostly Not Dumb

Considering Professor Hawkins I have found it disturbing how many people who after talking to me express suprise that I am very intelligent. Maybe it's my face? πŸ€”πŸ˜x

Yeah and then there’s the bit when you suddenly become almost deaf the moment you have to start using a wheelchair. HELLO I’M JJST GOING TO CHANGE YOUR DRESSING. πŸ™„

I've found that the older I get everyone thinks I'm deaf and stupid. Who cares! It's what I think that matters πŸ˜›

No, it's not your face Matthew, it comes with the territory.

I refuse point blankly to engage with anyone who doesn't engage directly with me and have bluntly asked others as to why they're talking to me as if I were a 4yo - I take no prisoners. I never get used to it either....

Like Matthew, I'd love to see you in action too, Ellie.

Last time we were at the airport I went through security in my powerchair. The security person looked at Stuart and said... can she walk at all ?

I won't share our reaction ! When we complained to special assistance they said it was typical and they were working on it.

              Love Debbie x

When I first went out in my wheelchair one neighbour spoke to my husband and patted me on the head.He looked embarrassed when I laughed. At that time I was Suprised and couldn’t think what to say.It hasn’t happened since then .Best wishes Mary

There must be a reason why this happens. Do we just associate wheelchairs with pushchairs or prams. It's very odd. πŸ€”

Look looking after someone with MND does not mean you understand what it's like to live with it. Please understand.

Matthew there are more than just mnd people in wheelchairs. I wasn't trying to pretend I have mnd. That's not what I was referring to. Just why people treat wheelchair users that way.
YES I am a carer and I am allowed to present my thoughts just as much as anyone else. As a carer I find your comments offensive and I think others will feel the same.

Okay so you saying I have been offensive and most of your posts are about you and your issues. When they relate to your caring no worries but the other ones I find offensive. I may feel differently tomorrow because I have MND.
