Did anyone see the Grayson Perry Art club programme (last week?). where a disabled young woman showed her artwork using eye gaze, and talking about how liberating it was as she felt in her artwork the freedom she can't get in other activities in life. I have loved trying to paint, but am wary now, can't do anything detailed, and can get cramp in my hand. I did a spelling book for my grandson using paintings of some of his favourite things using snapfish a while ago. Want to do one for my granddaughter (not spelling!) to welcome her to this world, she is due to be born end of May. Find myself putting off trying to paint for it, for fear of not being able to. Long may you enjoy painting, Olivia xYou do not have permission to view this gallery.

This perfectly illustrates that one the many problems with the written word is that it is open to invidual interpretation. What I meant Mary was your very lucky indeed to be loved and be loved so very much. Only love intended. ☹️

Thanks Matthew, hope you have a good day.In Warwickshire it’s a grey morning. Having a cuppa in bed and watching the news.Wondering if my legs will get me the shower safely.I am grateful I can still speak ,eat, use my hands and breathing although on the blink seems not to bad so far this morning.I have to try and concentrate on today and self talk myself not to worry too much about tomorrow. It’s great so many forum members have artistic talents, great IT skills, and are kind hearted enough to offer advise and support for other members.?Best wishes.Mary

Many years ago I became interested in water colours through a friend. We would sit and paint, chat and have a little glass of g&t. You know when you accidentally put the paintbrush in the wrong container! We still finished it off. Had some strange coloured drinks😄😊😉 I haven't done any painting in years and like Gary I had paper and brushes and books but they all sit in the basement. 😟

Deb, do you find you still dream of dancing a lot, always able to dance in your dreams? I am always hill-walking in mine. 😊
Thank you Sue😊

Gary, I must also compliment the cherry!
It is a wonderful sense of achievement when you finish a piece of artwork. I must admit, birds are my favourite subject and all being well, post Covid times, I would like to have an exhibition, something to aim for🙂

Thanks for all the kind comments about my cherry. I'm not sure they're helping me though. 😉
The cherry was painted following an online tutorial. I've now got a collection of art materials that I'm trying to decide what to do with.
