    Barry Wilson (our Barry) R.I.P.

    Sue, Barry's wife, posted on his FB page the very sad news that Barry died following an accident in Scotland.

    Needless to say I am devastated, as many will be, at Barry's untimely death. I have know him for years and it's true to say that Barry was one of life's true gentlemen.

    RIP my friend. Heartfelt condolences to Sue, Barry's beloved Mum and to his family.

    ​Diagnosed 03/2007. Sporadic Definite ALS/MND Spinal (hand) Onset.
    Eye gaze user - No functional limbs - No speech - Feeding tube - Overnight NIV.

    I cant believe this. I'm heart broken. He was one of the best.

    love to his family and friends . We will miss him so much.

      THank you Ellie for having to be the bearer of the saddest news. Such a shock! He was living life to the full despite MND.

        Ellie how very sad - reading his posts he certainly was living life to the full. His family must be devastated. Thoughts with all 🙏
        Initial diagnosis 7-4-2021 'suspected MND' confirmed by 2nd opinion 4th June 2021 ALS. Began with R foot limp and lots of falls. NIV overnight. Generally weak. Mostly terrified.​​​​​​

          An inspiration, a gentleman and a compassionate support for all of us affected by MND. How we will miss him !

                Dear Barry was the first person to acknowledge me when I joined this forum and gave me advice on the Sheffield MND clinic to which he was a regular,

                So sad and for his mam, no one should lose their child at any age..........This I know..............its not the right order of things........

                Condolences to Sue and his family, forum wont be the same without you Barry.........

                  ALS diagnosed November 2017, limb onset. For the 4 yrs previously I was losing my balance.

                  I'm staying positive and taking each day as it comes.

                        I can’t believe this, it’s awful news. Barry has been such a stalwart on this forum for years and I was always glad to hear of his globetrotting experiences. What a sincere and helpful gentleman he was.
                        RIP Barry, and sincere condolences to Sue and family.
                        We will miss you dearly Barry.

                              Such sad news to hear, such a shock. Barry tried and did get the very best out of the hand that was dealt to him, and gave us all both humour and hope. Heartfelt thoughts and love to all his family. X
