they are going to look into getting stephen a chair - that should be interesting. think its going to be a struggle to get him into one. but they need to start the ball rolling at some stage. they talked about stopping smoking - that also made me laugh - tried that one for 40 years.
yes im looking at 2nd hand wavs. i recall jeantte saying about head height, stephens 6ft 2", or being unable to see much out the windows so im going to look at that too. so much to think about. i'll get a car and he wont want to go out. though if we are stuck with this flat he wont be going any where any way. for one problem i solve another one seems to pop up. i was just going to think about something else but as it was another problem rather than a solution i have deleted it.
what i was thinking of doing was getting loads of stick on labels and using a wall and sticking them on so it looks like i am trying to solve a crime with lots of coloured threads linking one bit to another. it might work.
Yes Denise, we got a Fiat doblo there’s plenty of head height, Phil sat in my wheelchair and drove into it and he’s 6ft 2” also and he he had a little bit of headroom, the only thing is it has a shelf above the windscreen which blocks my view somewhat and I’m only 5ft 2”
Hope you get sorted soon 👍 x

The G Logic is my everyday indoor chair and it’s very good for me. As far as wheelchair services are concerned the answer is “These are very expensive and cannot be changed”
Richard
Different to my local Wheelchair Services who are really good. I haven’t changed my powered wheelchair but they offered to do so when I described a powered wheelchair that I’d seen when we were at a motorway service area. She knew the one that I’d described but she explained that it cannot have a kerb lifter on it (which I have and need to get up and down local kerbs, up to 4 inches) so I declined. Lynne x
Andy and Denise there are plenty of used WAVs on sale. It obviously depends what’s available in your area but a bit of research is the way to go. Good luck, Lynne x
Have to find somewhere else to live. Need to get a car. Yesterday I walked to the local shop and felt like I couldn't walk. It was a very strange feeling.
Hi Denise,
its good you've got support for you and Stephen at last. However too much advice can be totally overwhelming. If you can, just deal with one thing ar a time. You've had so much upheaval you need time to rest and recharge..
You also need time to perfect your pole 💃 dancing 😀
We had a manual wheelchair for a while and all I did was lift it in and out of the car and garage. He wouldn't sit in it. I didn't think there was an age limit on motability? Though I'm dizzy with info, telephone numbers and services. I'm keen to buy a car but I'm thinking one to store an unused wheelchair or get a wav and wheel him in. To be honest I don't know what is worse having no help and no back up or having so much information I just want to cry. Anyone says 'and how are you coping' 😫 . I phoned a number this morning hoping she'd tell me why I called. I'm in a bad way 🥺
