    Sneaky MND/ASL

Not satisfied with weakening my dominant hand first I have now discovered my fingers are weakening in sequence too. My first finger on my right hand has no power but the one next to it does. Something this devious should have been invented by a human. πŸ˜‘πŸ˜πŸ€—πŸ˜‚xx
Bulbar started Jan 2020. Mute and 100% tube fed but mobile and undefeated. Stay Strong πŸ€—πŸ˜˜πŸ€—πŸ˜xx

Stephens right hand is almost finished. He tends to try and use his left hand but some fingers are worse than others.
when i can think of something profound i will update this.

      Good morning.
Its horrible when your dominant hand weakens or becomes so you can’t use it.Mine is weaker now but it’s only a matter of time before it becomes worse.I find my writing is affected, when I use a spoon to eat my hand tremors I try and use my left hand which is affected but not as much yet.
      Daily changes are horrid.
Friends coming to lunch today so hope I can eat a little and not drop it everywhere.
Hope you all have a good day.
      Best wishes
      Mary

matthew55 awful to see nearly every day a progression...mine isn't slow for sure. Mary C yes my r hand very weak with no grip and now the left catching up. I had neat writing now it's messy....but legible. So I thank God for small mercies.
        Have a lovely lunch....πŸ€—πŸ˜˜

My right hand has always been dominant for writing etc, so I was glad it was my left hand that went first. But I have always used my left hand for toileting purposes, and can I teach old dog new tricks (ie using my right hand for this)? No! Here's to biobidets!
Diagnosed July 2020, ALS bulbar onset. PEG and ventilator (mainly at night), and pretty poor speech, but legs still about functioning!

bromleycross my index finger R (dominant)hand is bending too ....I wondered about being referred to a 'hand clinic' would a splint similar to those worn for arthritis help? Anyway I intend to look into it☝

My dominant right hand is getting worse too. Not good but try not to think about it x
ALS diagnosed November 2017, limb onset. For the 4 yrs previously I was losing my balance.

I'm staying positive and taking each day as it comes.
