    Regarding your ankle

    This is not medical advice

But if you have trauma in the soft tissue is can take weeks to calm down.

I twisted my ankle a few years black, felt something ping, foot swollen and black and blue etc Also not broken

Took a few weeks to sort

So Rest on a cushion and chill, if swollen ice to reduce swelling.

Pain can feel like burning, itching or throbbing, everyone is different.

    Take care

Glad you are progressing with the NIV.The respiratory nurse is coming to see me tomorrow and is aware I tried and tried with NIV but couldn’t tolerate it.
Many people on this forum have got used to it so hope all goes well for you.

You too Mary. I can't say it's been straight forward and I'm still getting use to the NIV. To be honest Ellie suggested rather than try straight away to sleep 4 hrs+ using NIV....maybe read...watch TV. It was sound advice ....and I've built up to sleeping. Some nights seem better than others. Not sure it's always 4 hours but I'm just doing what I can.
I'm on low settings which will be tweaked at the next visit. Good luck with your resp nurse👍😘

    Hi Ellie
They did X ray it and to be honest did say it would take a while to settle , maybe I am too keen, it's a miracle it didn't break . Still working out how l came to fall all pointing at leg/ankle weakness. Wife has a lot of questions for home Ventilation Team as it was a bit confusing fro our Hospital visit and tests to them saying they were coming to the house. Thanks for the replies it's all new still but then all of our journeys will I think be unique. It doesn't help that l have COPD as well. Yes l used to smoke work in dust etc.

Did you have an X-ray or scan of the ankle Derbyram21 ? You could have nerve or ligament damage/trauma. It's obvs not ideal if your ankle is swollen for the orthotic measurement/assessment.

Hope your appointment with the vent nurse goes well. xx

Hi Derbyram21 haven't had burning in ankles but I can imagine that must be difficult....hopefully someone else on here can shed some light on possibilities.
I've recently started with NIV...a work in progress....it's good they're coming out to you I had to go to the Neuro hosp.
    Take care 👍

I have had a return of the burning feeling in both ankles/feet not sure if anyone else has had this ? Awaiting Orthotics to contact me. Home Ventilation Nurse coming out as they have suggested this at night time. All part of the journey l suppose.
