    Biting Inner cheek in mouth

Recently I have noticed I am biting my cheek in mouth whilst sleeping. Not sure if I need to get some kind of teeth guard fit night.
Currently using bonjela to soothe it.
Anyone else got this problem ?
    Best wishes

Hopefully your get a mouth guard Mary. I think Mathew mentioned one a white back. I bite the inside of my mouth and lip quite often when Iโ€™m eating so have to eat very carefully x
ALS diagnosed November 2017, limb onset. For the 4 yrs previously I was losing my balance.

I'm staying positive and taking each day as it comes.

Sometimes bite my lower lip when eating...I too have to be careful. Haven't noticed at night but I've a mask covering nose and mouth. ๐Ÿ˜˜

I'm the same. I swill my mouth with luke warm salt water which helps it heal. I also got a cheap mouth gaurd from amazon but my partner got one from his dentist which fits better.

Go to your dentist and get upper and lower gum shields. Nothing like what rugby players wear. I wear my lower one 24/7 with no pain and no problems. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿค—xx

Except with MND/ASL you loose control of your tounge and your jaw moves. Just saying ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜xx

I know I was just saying too. Thing is I never know where to put my tongue when I'm trying to get to sleep. As for the dentist I mean it has a life of it's own. ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Me too biting cheeks and lips but not while sleeping. And when I sneeze tongue gets stuck in gaps between teeth. OWW! Also use Bonjela. I was in the process of having an implant when diagnosed so abandoned it to avoid most of the cost. Big mistake! Seeing dentist next week about mouthguard.
Diagnosed June 2019. Bulbar palsy. Lost voice. Using PEG fitted April 2021 alongside eating normally albeit slowly and messily at times.

All too common an issue Mary ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

I definitely recommend a dentist-made mouthguard for your upper teeth - they are worth the money.

You will have an impression of your teeth taken, which involves biting down on a 'putty' type material for a very short period, but it's not unpleasant.

I wear mine only in bed and, if I have sore inner cheeks, like you, I use Bonjela.

Another thing for your To Do list, I'm afraid. xx

Find a dental hospital near by and get it for free. If you're lucky you get a student. Best extraction of my life! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿค—๐Ÿง๐Ÿ˜xx

I do this all the time when eating, even when Iโ€™m being super careful! Also biting my tongue, which is even worse
