    Home sight test

Later today should be interesting. I'm having an in-home sight test. I can't speak. Cogitate that over your cornflakes. πŸ˜‰πŸ€—πŸ€£πŸ˜xx

Can you scribble the letter down on paper without looking? Or are your hands too bad? I am interested as I really need a test too! Xx
Diagnosed July 2020, ALS bulbar onset. PEG and ventilator (mainly at night), and pretty poor speech, but legs still about functioning!

Matthew I don't think its too late for you to get a voice app. You can use someone else's voice. Ive used my daughter's and when people can't understand me I can type it into the ipad. Typing is slow because my left hand is not working properly but I can manage and at the moment my right hand is fine. The MNDA organised the recording. I had to pay for the app -Β£140, and an ipad Β£500 with a keyboard. Just a thought.
Bulbar ALS diagnosed September 2021, no speech, PEG fed, using ipad with Predictable to communicate, taking each day as it comes

My fingers get tired quickly typing and I find people don't always understand the message the first time. Boogie board and thick pens for now.

We had specsavers around couple of weeks ago. It was great. He was brilliant with Stephen.
I'm hopeless. When they say which looks better this lenses or that one? I panic! Which one? I imagine getting an electric shock because I've given the wrong answer. πŸ™„
