    Accessible Clothes

    Hiya. I am still mobile, so I need to get dressed to go out. However, the progressive weakness in my hands is starting to make things like trouser buttons and shoelaces tricky. I want to look for more "accessible" clothes - things like elastic waist trousers and wide opening velcro-fastened shoes.
    Can anyone recommend any particular suppliers / shops / websites before I go and trawl the entire internet for such things.

    Not sure about shoes...but for clothing how about track suit bottoms?
    I'm struggling with buttons now but can manage with leggings🙄
    Someone else is bound to have more ideas and suggestions👍🏻😉
    Initial diagnosis 7-4-2021 'suspected MND' confirmed by 2nd opinion 4th June 2021 ALS. Began with R foot limp and lots of falls. NIV overnight. Generally weak. Mostly terrified.​​​​​​

      Beware velcro as your hands get weaker it gets harder to use.
      Bulbar started Jan 2020. Mute and 100% tube fed but mobile and undefeated. Stay Strong 🤗😘🤗😁xx

        I appreciate the thought, but I was ideally after something a bit smarter than tracky bottoms.
        ...and you wouldn't want to see me in leggings
        I keep seeing internet ads for velcro boots that look OK, but I hate ordering shoes on-line. May just have to bite the bullet...

                I haven't had any luck with shoes as I hate buying on line too. I just bought a pair of size 8 calf length boots with full length zips to go over my swollen size 5 feet. I can't stand or walk so it's not a problem. They make me look dressed and keep my feet warm 😊

                  WheelsOfSteel Eddie, if you're looking for elasticated waist trousers, many high street online stores (what an oxymoron!!) do them and they're not tracky bottoms. H&M probably have the widest range and, of course, the mega marketplace has lots, just watch Amazon's sizes. xx
