Still transferring with my walker to wheelchair. Steve rearranged my chair and side table so now my RR chair is next to my wheelchair. That’s making transfers easier as only a couple of steps but my table is now on my weakest side with my weakest hand but he’s doing his best for me. Catheter tomorrow morning so less transfers needed xx

Thanks Deb. I’m super careful don’t worry and I know that it’s coming to an end of the little bit of independence that I’ve got so I’m making the most of it. The future is soon so as you know I blank it out and make the best of today. That’s been hard for a couple of weeks now seeing as I’ve had to accept Steve showering me, drying me (mostly) and doing almost all of dressing me in day clothes. But I’m still independently putting on my clean knickers and silk pjs each evening after Steve has undressed me. He’s been helping with bras for months xx

Ellie thanks for your kind suggestion but my legs weren’t shaking when I’d finished. I only did half hour last time because I’d gotten out of the daily habit of using my peddler and hadn’t used it since before Christmas. So I thought less would be good to start (I used to do an hour). Today my legs just felt more stiff but they always have done when I peddled. But I felt refreshed after a better nights sleep (morphine has a lot to do with that) so felt up to the hour. I won’t be able to do this soon so I made the most of it. Xx

    started a topic Exercise

    Exercise

I set myself up on my floor peddler and did an hour in 5 minutes forward and 5 minutes backwards repeated. I ought to do this every day to keep the circulation in my legs. I’m getting twitching in them on and off now so my days of transferring from my RR chair to wheelchair using my walker and going to the loo independently are numbered but I’m fighting it all of the way. Xx
Working...
