Sorry, it's not entirely clear from your post - "Mobility assessment cancelled", did you have an imminent appointment which was recently cancelled?

Have you been seen by the OT in your MND Clinic or the community OT (since diagnosis)? xx

Mobility assessment cancelled - advice please

So, I waited and asked repeatedly for a mobility assessment since last summer (when I was not diagnosed with MND). My walking is now awful and risks increase as I have half my pelvis missing and a hip replacement... so I was really keen to be seen today to find out what was preventing me walking properly and what aids would help me (I bought a stick last summer, but think it is no longer enough)

I have severe foot drop and weakness in left leg, my right leg is now getting worse and can no longer cope (I have a swaying walk) but my left hand, forearm and shoulder are also really weak. So not sure a walking frame/ rollator would help.

I can't step up or down steps now without something strong to hold onto in my right hand, so even stepping over my door threshold is a challenge.

Is there anything you can suggest, or is it a case of power chair (when I finally get some ramps/ adaptations)?

I'm currently relying on hubby pushing me in a wheelchair, but he works long hours/ shifts so it isn't practical and I feel stuck at home.
Working...
