matthew55 what did that poor coffee table ever do to you? Did you confirm with it that there was no harm done or is it just yourself you’re concerned about? πŸ˜‰

My personal favourite way to fall is a dramatic forward sprawl. So much potential for scrapes and bruises. You only score 3.5 out of 5 style points for merely tipping over.

Diagnosed December 2020 with lower limb onset ALS, now involving hands and arms.

And I just read on the EBC thread that you came down the stairs by yourself at 1am 😲😲

If you tumbled down those, you wouldn't kill yourself, but you would wake up on a ward, incommunicado and bandaged up like a mummy, like Sid James in a Carry On film...

            Take good care Sweetie πŸ˜˜πŸ˜˜πŸ€—πŸ€—

              Glad you're ok young Matthew.

Take special care,. Broken bones due to falls are very painful although Ellie`s carry on scenario made me smile.

              Hugs to you xxxπŸ˜˜πŸ€—

Number 3 last night. By my bed.. The first thing I noticed was head butting the wall but at least I landed on my bed. Still no harm done.

Stephen fell in the bathroom on Sunday. I managed to get him to a sitting position but since falling trying to help him before, and I'm still suffering, I'm not keen to do too much.

I managed to fall over in a disabled toilet in a restaurant last night
I should have known better really. All the support rails are designed to help those using a seated position, but as I had my ankle braces on I used the "gentleman's standing position". While trying to do my trousers up with a failing left hand my leg buckled and I ended up on the floor.
No harm done and dignity intact, so I'm seeing the ironic side
Time for this gentleman to stick to the seated position!
                    Hi, I'm Eddie.
Started with wobbly left ankle in Nov 2020. Diagnosed 22 Oct 2021, confirmed by 2nd opinion 4 days later.
Full time powerchair user. Overnight NIV. PEG'ed but still eating. Voice banked but still talking.
Still wondering what the future will bring.

It's the knees giving way that is horrible, just not having that strength in your legs/balance. Take care everyone! πŸ™‚

Just been picked up by paramedics. I was reaching down when I went all the way and ended upside down. I pressed my alarm and half an hour a responder arrived and managed to turn me over. Then two hours later the ambulance arrived. I wonder what else will happen today. πŸ»πŸ˜πŸ€—πŸ˜Žxx

Stephen stands next to his chair and says 'I feel all wobbly' there's usually a chorus of 'well sit down then' πŸ™„

I agree I say pull your pants and trousers so far down and SIT! It's not difficult but can I get through!! No doubt he still isnt sitting. I'm thinking of putting a big sign up next to the loo.

I don't think he realizes how upsetting it is to see him on the floor and how difficult it is for me to get him comfortable before help will come. I can rarely rely on family and the ambulance crew are lovely and do try to come quickly. I'm thinking we must be on a list because they do come well before the predicted wait time and have told me to leave him they will come. The latest a neighbour has offered help but hes had a hip replacement so I'm not sure I should ask him.πŸ€”

                              matthew55 πŸ€” Sweetie, there's a theme going on here, don't you think 😏

Far from me telling you what to do - you wouldn't listen anyway πŸ˜‰ - may I remind you of a recent declaration of yours was that your biggest fear was of waking up on a ward, being unable to communicate. Now it seems you are determined to be that Sid James lookalike.

Maybe your care package hours needs to be greatly increased, or maybe you could be in a safer place but, whatever you choose to do, please, please take care πŸ’–πŸ’–
