    PEG tape

    Hello 👋🏻
My husband had a PEG fitted just over 2 weeks ago. We have been using micro pore tape at night just to stop it getting caught when he moved in bed. Unfortunately this tape is causing some irritation to his skin. I know there are a variety of tapes you Cani get. I just wondered what most people use overnight? We were given a pocket belt for him to wear but it’s pretty uncomfortable.
    Any suggestions greatly appreciated 😊

We've tried everything. It either doesn't stick or it aggravates his skin.
when i can think of something profound i will update this.

Hypafix is a self-adhesive, non-woven tape for wide area dressing fixation. It can be easily cut to the required shape and size and is particularly useful over joints and on extremeties.

It works for me so hoping it will help. I can even go in shower and it stays on.
but at least its not that expensive so worth a go. X

We did use tape initially but it caused a rash. Now I screw it shut so that the end with the screw fitting fits around the tube near the hole into the stomach so it firms a loop. No tape required and held out of the way. (not explaining well - the screw cap has a length of plastic holding the cap to the rest of the external peg, I hook this around the peg tube itself)

It does create a loop that could catch though.

Hi …. My husband Andy uses ‘Mefix’ tape which I get online. It sticks well and doesn’t irritate if the skin is dry and cream/hair free! Much better than any other tape we’ve tried over the last 3years.

I've been waiting since December for peg tape. So once more when dietician came last month I brought up the fact that the cleaning gauze and cream and peg fixers haven't turned up. So she puts together another request to doctors surgery. Hey ho they've lost it again.

This is the 3rd prescription they have lost. They asked me to arrange a asthma appointment which I already have AND unknown to me the doctor had i
