    Can’t get enough sleep

Not content with 10 hours sleep last night, I felt so exhausted after ‘getting up’ this morning that I went back to bed and slept for another 2 hours. I find the NIV so soporific now I am used to wearing it. I certainly am not a candidate to join the Early Bird club.

I'm the other way. I sleep for 2hrs then toss and turn. But I start with gabapentin tonight. I am fortunate not to have started niv yet.

Well, your bed must be comfortable at least...

If your sleep isn't meds induced, would that be a regular occurence Peter - would 10hrs sleep ever leave you feeling refreshed?

I take a small dose of Amitriptyline via my PEG, which is intended to help with saliva control, and has the welcome side effect of making it easy to get to sleep. I’m not unhappy about sleeping, and I guess the increasing levels of exhaustion is just part of the joy of MND. I can’t say that I ever wake up feeling refreshed.

I went through a barrage of respiratory function tests at Queen Square about 6 weeks ago.

Our bed is very comfortable! A dual electrically adjustable king size (two mattresses). Makes life a lot easier.

I take 2 zoplicon and sleep for about 5 hours then in one hour segments. That's on my sofa sitting up BTW. 🤔😂😁😄🤗xx

Oh that's a real shame Peter, I'm glad you're comfortable for your long sleeps 👍👍

I am obviously very fortunate in that I wake up feeling refreshed most mornings and I know that makes a ginormous difference to my mood and my ability to face each day. 😘
