I haven’t yet. I thought walking sandals might work. I don’t have a podiatrist but will ask the hospice. Thank you folks.

Hakuna Have you a podiatrist? I found out last year that they're not all about toes 😃
I guess safety is paramount, that includes heel height and form, sole grip, foot stability, as well as how you actually lift your foot and a podiatrist should be able to advise you on that.
Failing this, I guess you need to think about the above factors and hopefully make an informed decision - I've a feeling it'll be be like a Scholl-type sandal than a Jimmy Choo 😬 or a summer shoe.
I did wear a fairly flat sandal the first summer after my diagnosis - flexible enough, grippy soles with adjustable straps across the front of the ankle and across the lower foot, not the height of fashion but did the job. (obvs I don't know the then-me compares to the now-you in walking ability)
Have you seen any sandals you like and think suitable? xx

I really think it depends on the sandals. Last summer I was still shuffling around outside the house. I simply can not tolerate my toes scrunched up so closed toe shoes are a nightmare to put on.
We found me a pair of Teva sandals where both the foot and ankle straps were adjustable. The soles were rubber, therefore nonslip. They aren’t the prettiest things but they worked for me.
