House44 - sounds awful. Have you got someone who can put a gentle moisturiser on you or maybe some calamine lotion? Not sure what else to suggest. Could it be an allergy? If so an antihistamine might work.
I hope you find some relief xDiagnosis confirmed as atypical ALS Jan 2022 (age 46) after several years misdiagnosed.
Symptoms began in left foot 2017. Now widespread. Powerchair user, useless left arm and clumsy right hand but generally positive!

Hi House44
My husband developed skin problems some time after being diagnosed with MND - at first it was an itch in one area which afterwards we thought was caused by oramorph. But then he had what looked like excema on his shoulders, neck, chest and head - his head came out in little spots too. He was prescribed a steriod cream which worked really well. He was also given a special shampoo and different lotion for his head which we left in overnight. He also had Dermacool but this didn't give much relief.
Any idea what's causing the itch? - if you have an MND nurse she might be able to suggest something and your GP could prescribe it perhaps.
Stating the obvious, but taking in plenty of fluids can help prevent skin from getting dry, if that's the problem.
Hope you get it sorted, sounds awful.
Best wishes
Husband died 14 months after MND diagnosis.

i've had really bad itchy skin before, when i was taking drugs to wipe out Hep C - after several failed 'remedies' i eventually took some drug beginning with P that sorted it out (sorry, can't remember more; i'll see if i can find a ref somewhere and post here if i do). and i find udderly moisturing lotion v good now. good luck!

House44 New laundry products used on your pillowcase perchance? Any new 'beauty' products π or meds? Any redness, flakiness or dryness of skin?
Because it's your face, you might need to be careful of any creams you use, but a pharmacist should be able to recommend creams, shampoo and antihistimanes, if necessary.
As the owner of two totally useless arms, I know exactly how frustrating it is to be unable to scratch an itch π πβDiagnosed 03/2007. Sporadic Definite ALS/MND Spinal (hand) Onset.
