    acid reflux

i have been suffering with saliva problems for months choking on it but today I had a doctor round today and for months mnd nurses and doctors have told me sort secretions out ect... take all the Sahara desert drugs.
The doctor tells me its acid reflux or gerd if a bit more serious.
absolutely shocking they always put everything down to mnd.
this could of been sorted months ago.

If I ever mention a symptom, it is dismissed as being down to MND so I share your frustration. Hopefully you will now receive the right treatment 🤞🏻
Bulbar onset diagnosed Nov 21. No speech, feeding tube, limbs getting weaker but still just about mobile.

House44 What meds did the doctor put you on Wayne? I take Lansoprazole, a PPI, which stops acid coming up and causing pain.

At least you'll soon know for sure if it's acid reflux/GERD or MND-related.

      Best wishes xx

I am a firm user of Tums now. I watch my diet and try to stay away from high-fat proteins and it helps. I eat a lot of veggies and fruits also. The biggest help I got was probiotics. I started taking them and it was almost gone. Several types of probiotics two or three times a week when its bad is good. I do colon cleansing also when it flares up.

I only need Tums a few times a week, sometimes less. I use PP inhibitors rarely now, maybe 4 or 5 per year.
