Powered wheelchair - advice please

Hi, apologies if this topic has already been covered (did search) my husband was diagnosed with MND in August. From cycling in March he is now walking with frame and is in a manual wheelchair when out and about (supplied by wheelchair services) He has been measured up for a Quick Q 300 (for later down the line) but he is looking for something that is portable, is able to go into the boot of my car (a mini) and we can use to go on holiday. He is looking at powered wheelchair but obviously there is so much to choose from. Does anyone have advice/experience on which would be best. Thanks in advance 👍

When I was "in between" i.e. having difficulty walking but not yet in a powerchair, I used a lightweight electric scooter.
These are usually designed to fold down to go in car boots, and provide a stable seat and easy hand controls.
Might be useful to do a quick internet search for second hand ones.

I had an electric scooter and my local MND group gave it to me. Perhaps check with them too.

Have a look at the I-GO Lite. It weighs about 18.5 kg is very well designed and folds to go in a boot. I bought mine about 6 months ago and love it. Best to find a dealer where you can sit in it and try it out to make sure it’s suitable.

Best advice we were given was to cover all eventualities. My husband bought an invacare TDX, we also purchased a WAV to put it in. This was definitely the right decision and gave my husband the freedom to get out and about but also made my life easier by not having to lift/hoist a wheelchair into a small boot.
