    A trip out

I just wanted to share that I had a good day yesterday at my local hospice. They arranged a social morning for the ladies with MND. It was good to get out and to meet others with this disease x we chatted about all different things, me being the youngest and the two ladies where in their 80s x I went on my own in the local taxi, pope mobile x I know I am in safe hands with the driver and staff at the hospice which puts my husband at ease x

Sounds lovely Madge - I think I could do with things like that to do sometimes. It's good meeting up with people in a safe place where there is no pressure to be "well". I tend to stay at home most of the time now x
Diagnosis confirmed as atypical ALS Jan 2022 (age 46) after several years misdiagnosed.

Symptoms began in left foot 2017. Now widespread. Powerchair user, useless left arm and clumsy right hand but generally positive!

Madge Your day sounds just lovely!

What you said about your husband not having to worry about you really resonates with me. Whenever I go into the hospice for respite and my family go off on holiday, they know they need not worry about me and can relax. xx

Madge ah so pleased you enjoyed yourself at the hospice. Sounds lovely. Was that just a one off or do they provide day care also.
Unfortuantely since lockdown our hospice in Warrington have stopped any day care. It would be lovely if they did, like you say it’s a trusted environment where family know your being looked after. Hope you get to go again😀xx

Since lock down the day care has not been up and running which is a shame as I used to enjoy my day out x the hospice plan another meeting before Christmas x I felt good going out on my own too x
