    Pulling sensation in the leg

    Hi

Hoping someone may have some advice...

My Dad feels a pulling sensation in his legs when he is trying to sleep. He lays flat but with his legs slightly elevated and pillows underneath to support as this is the only way he finds comfort.

He can no longer stand but can move his lower legs slightly.

Not sure what the sensation is so difficult to find a way to help.. has anyone had anything similar ?

    Thanks

I’m not sure if this is the same sensation, but my legs get spasticity cramps and it feels like someone is squeezing and pulling my muscles. I find Tizanidine (spasticity meds) and electric heating pads are helpful.

If my legs are not slightly bent in bed, I get an uncomfortabe 'dragging' feeling in them, so I put a pillow under my knees to break the muscle tension.

Does your dad take any antispasmodic meds? xx

I get this sensation to, but since I've been taking amitriptyline it has stopped 90 percent of the time.

Thank you everyone, I wasn't aware of the spasticity medication so will ask the doctor for something

I suggested a heating pad to Dad but he complains he's too hot!

          Appreciate all of the help
