    Hair wash

Out of interest, does anyone use a hairdresser’s mobile sink to wash their hair. Before I go out and buy one was wondering if anyone had any experience with using one. It’s a struggle using the kitchen sink 😜 now.

I use one. The height is adjustable so it fits right over my shoulders while sitting in my wheelchair. It drains into a bucket. We pull it up close to the kitchen sink as there is a pull out sprayer on the faucet, but it could work just as well with a jug of water.

Prior to that, I had an inflatable thing to use while laying in bed. That was horrible to use and I wouldn’t recommend except in a dire emergency.

Maria C thanks for your response. Like you I will be in my motorised scooter which tilts back too. I think I will go ahead and order as the kitchen sink is too uncomfortable now x could my husband do my hair wash and rinse on his own or would I need someone to help him.

Madge, I know washing your hair won't take that long but will you be okay in a reclined position for breathing and swallowing saliva?

I should think your hubby could manage it on his own. xx

I have a towel around my neck to limit drips and lean back while my hair is being wet or rinsed. I sit up straighter while the shampoo and conditioner are applied. My husband can manage to wash my hair without help.

Madge I hope you find your hair washing sink as useful as I do.

Thank you all, very useful. I believe i should be ok to recline / tilt as the sink is height adjustable. I also saw a sponge protector that fits on the sink edge but will also use a towel. i will let you know Maria C
