    Hospital/Patient Transport

So I had a 13:05 appointment at the Salford Royal clinic today

Patient Transport was booked and we saw the ambulance pull up at 12:15

    First they go next door

Secondly they had no transit chair

    I have no wheelchair yet

Thirdly they said they couldn’t get a stretcher down the step

Trying to get a new appointment

    Bemused are we

We find that patient transfer are not great. First time we used them they arrived late and we were late for an appointment and then after having spending an hour having Steves wheelchair mended they broke it again on the homeward journey! We said we would never use them again. When I broke my wrist we had to use them for Steve to get to the hospice.. you never knew what time they would turn up or what time they would drop him off. He spent long journeys in them often over 2 hours for a 25 minute journey.

          Hi Douglas.

Sorry to hear you had such problems with hospital transport. By coincidence, the patient in the next bed has been waiting for three hours for hospital transport to take her home.
