Were you assessed by your nurse/OT for a pressure relieving mattress and it's that mattress you're awaiting? Hopefully a good, alternating air mattress is being provided.
I cannot move in bed and my bony areas are at very high risk of developing pressure sores, but I stay comfortable all night on an alternating air mattress. The first one I was given wasn't comfortable but it was replaced for a much better one and now I sleep on a bed of marshmallows ππππ
I had a morphine patch years ago but lasted a week on them as my Princess skin was allergic to the patch adhesive ππ
Good luck xxβDiagnosed 03/2007. Sporadic Definite ALS/MND Spinal (hand) Onset.

On my recent holiday, I was given a hybrid mattress and its pump vibrated and pulsated every few minutes, making sleep impossible.
My home mattress is currently a Domus 4 alternating air mattress given to me as a replacement recently when my old faithful one broke but, tbh, the Domus pump is super quiet that I'd happily keep it And it's very comfy. It's not that my old pump was loud, it's that this one is soooo quiet.
Ask for one Matthew - it needs to be an alternating air type and one for which the firmess of the air cells can be increased & decreased. And itmay take a few nights to find the best settings, so don't write it off after one night, unless it's like trying to sleep in an MRI machine.
Oh, I should add, it might be best on a profiling bed.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained π€ππβDiagnosed 03/2007. Sporadic Definite ALS/MND Spinal (hand) Onset.
