Need Extra Protein Through Your Feeding Tube?

Some days I can struggle to reach my 70g protein target, so I started taking Nutrison Protein Shots several weeks ago. tI's a fairly new product which I came across and asked my Dietitian if I should try it. She prescribed it and I've been taking it without any sign of a dodgy tummy 👍👍

In this handy little 40ml pot, there is 11g protein and only 45kcal, with neglible amounts of fat and sugar. One pack contains 6 pots.

I don't know if people taking Abbott products, such as Ensure, through the tube could get them - Abbott have no comparable product - but, if you're shy of your protein target, it's worth asking your Dietian about them. There shouldn't be an issue for people already taking Nutricia products (through a feeding tube) if the Dietitian thinks extra protein is needed. xx

I have just received a selection of supplements, Prosource, Nualtra and Aymes, to see which I like. I have only tried a couple but I got really bad stomach cramps shortly after drinking one. Is that common? I am still eating but my appetite is poor so I asked for supplements. x

Hope I don’t know what you had but some of those drinks are heavy on calories and are quite dense, so take your time drinking them.

They may be fortified with fibre which, if you're not used to it, can cause discomfort.

Mine were supposed to be delivered with my usual tube feeds, maybe they got the prescription too late 🤷🏻
