    Liver enzymes…? ALT and AST!

Hey everyone. It’s been over 2 weeks since starting Amylyx and apparently my liver enzymes are high? My ALT is 49 and AST is 70…?

Oh that's disappointing for you, Angie 😩

Did your Doctor say anything? Individually, though both higher than normal, each is within an allowable upper limit but the ratio of AST:ALT is important, and you don't want one sky rocketing and the other one crawling up.

Presumably the Liver Function Tests will be repeated in 2 weeks to see if the enzymes have stablised - they often do with Riluzole, but I've no idea with AMX0035 as it's not available this side of the pond. xx

Sorry to see that the levels are high, I hope when it's retested that it has started to settle down.

My dad's been called for another blood test due to his levels being raised but he didn't ask what level they were. He'd been on riluzole for about 16 months and it seemed ok (although I think the surgery had missed a blood test so it may have been a 6 month gap in between it being checked).
