    The Commend trial

Having just been at the steering group for this trial led by one of the sterling members of the South London branch of the Association who is an academic can I remind people hear about this trial?

From our meeting they are a bit short of their target to keep the trial going ahead and so they need some more volunteers, preferably through their local MND centre. I'm going to gee up Southampton when I see them on Monday!

So if you can help with working out whether this therapeutic approach is any help to people with MND and you're not involved I would encourage you to look at the thing and join in if you can– And I don't think you need to be old despite the route of the following URL

A feasibility study and randomised controlled trial of acceptance and COMmitment therapy for people with Motor nEuroN Disease (COMMEND)

    Warmly

    Andy

Diagnosed 03/2015. One sided limb onset (arm) sporadic PMA/MND - now 90% left arm and 90% right arm, plus other bits including both shoulders and also some breathing issues – Campaign contact Winchester and Southampton branch, and trustee of the Association

      Hi Matthew,

This started in 2019 so no reference to COVID-19. The therapy is now conducted online which appears to be successful.

I’m going to do this even if it kills me!
