That was really interesting. My first thoughts, from someone who was really impressed by Wallace and Gromits Wrong Pair of Trousers, that all I can see is military and the likes of Amazon using it to replace people. I'd be really impressed if it was used for disability and for use in the care industry. Hopefully that comes next. Ameca looks good though it seems they have concentrated on making it look human but as yet it cant walk so I'm not sure how long before that will be useful. Yes it would be nice to have someone to talk to but when it can do the ironing I will be impressed. Bit pricey but if you can get points for shopping at one of the major supermarkets it might be worth a try.

Thank you gorgeous for giving us something to think about.

    • O-o-o-o-h Denise... What did you call me????

I've had quite enough of my carer calling me *Princess*!

Would you like a tea princess? And a biscuit princess?

The Fall - Don't call me darling( from the album Cerebral Caustic)

Anyway, where were we? I've forgot.

The thought of a robot as a carer in the home is for me very unlikely. Think hygiene and battery power.

Hi sugar puff (Graham) and everyone else!

for some people a robot would be better than nothing. I'm quite sure lifting and a lot of housework could be carried out by a robot. I would give it a go it would help me help my husband. At least it would be here 24/7 and not when an agency could fit us in. Suppose there was a time when no one thought electricity was a good idea and I hate to think how I'd cope with daily tasks without that.

Thinking up another name as Graham is now known as princess. Ok
