    Hello everyone

I was diagnosed recently, so still coming to terms with this bastard disease - still deciding whether to call it Maggie or Boris as a pet name 🙂

I may have some daft questions at times but bear with me, though I would love to know if anyone has a quick fix for getting stuck to the seat of my shower/commode chair???

Do you mean you're getting stuck to the seat so have trouble moving or that you can't get enough grip to stay on the seat

Is the seat hard plastic, soft-ish polyurethane seat or padded seat?

    Take care.

    Love Ellie.

      Hi Ellie

      Thanks for responding.

The seat is padded grey poly - my skin just adheres to the seat and I end up shuffling around and trying to unpeel my thighs etc before I can try t

      Jo get up - exhausting

Hmmm... sprinkle a wee bit of powder on the seat before sitting down?? Not too much mind or you might end up on the floor!!

Maybe a firmer seat would be better for you - I've a polyurethane moulded seat which never trapped me - if it takes precious energy to manoeuvre yourself off it, well that's not great, tell your OT who should swap it. There could be a safety angle to your request, if needed...

        Love Ellie.

Welcome Jules. Your loo seat question is a first as far as I can recall!! Seriously, if your balance is compromised, then the potential for a fall with a hard landing is very risky. It’s often about adapting to our changing needs and so please don’t hesitate to ask questions, someone will have an answer.

                Jules,
I totally have the same issue, it’s occurs when I’m hot, hubby has to peel my legs and butt off before a lift otherwise the chair comes with me, no matter what way we do it it’s painful

Jules and Hayls good luck for a loo solution. Both ring your OTs. Love Lynne
