Hello. My name is Humaira, I'm 20. A few weeks ago, we found out that my grandma has MND. The symptoms were there long before such as frequent trips, slurred speech but we all believed it to be because of lockdown stresses and lack of physical activity. The diagnosis came as a huge shock to all of us. My grandma doesn't actually know herself- she doesn't speak English very well so there's no use telling her the exact name, but she does know it won't improve. As a family, we have been trying to be as supportive and positive as possible, but it is really hard. Especially when we couldn't go see her because of lockdown. She recently got a stairlift, and we are going to do up her garden so that she can enjoy that. This forum has been so so useful for us all, so thank you to everyone who has been posting information.
