    Hi
    My name is Kevin. I have been diagnosed with bulbar onset ALS. My speech and swallowing are affected at this moment in time. Have had excellent support from consultant and support services. The only problem has been sourcing speech therapy as there currently is no funding for a speech therapist in my local area only swallow therapist. My speech has deteriorated over the last month and due to the delay probably can't voice bank now. MND association have been very helpful and assisted with a laptop with software called Accapelo installed. I should receive it in the next few days. Can anyone recommend alternative software I can look at.

    Welcome, but sorry you've had to join us.

    Speakunique is good and similar to Acapela. They say you should speak 350 sentences, but in reality they can manage with fewer.

        Hi Kevin and welcome.

        I was using the predictable app with my voice recording by Modeltalker but recently switched to SpeakUnique which I find easier to use. SpeakUnique can repair a poor voice because they blend a regional accent with your own. Don’t give up yet and give it a try.

              Hi. I've recorded my voice on modeltalker and have predictable. I don't feel the voice (pronunciation and phrasing etc) is that good. Would SpeakUnique be able to improve on this?

                Hello there, I'm just like you and use predictable on a iPad. Usual problem is people switching off waiting for your typing. Still I use it when I need to be precise or I'm just worn out trying to talk. Be strong Matthew.
                Bulbar started Jan 2020. Mute and 100% tube fed but mobile and undefeated. Stay Strong 🤗😘🤗😁xx

                  Thanks for all the support. I have received the laptop and Acapela software. Waiting for Acapela to send me login registration details, expect it on Monday. I will record on Acapela and I have looked at Speakunique. It looks like on Speakuniqueyou can record your voice, I will be selecting repair, and you only have to pay if you like your recording. This will allow me to compare the two pieces of software. Keep you informed.
