    RIP Dude

    Hello All,

I am Dudes eldest son this is my second attempt to post sorry if it's repeated.

Our Dad passed away peacefully in Halton Haven Hospice in Runcorn on the 18th of April.

I have had a snoop around and Dad was no different with us offering advice good and bad, he was a real gentleman and would help anyone he could in need.

He must have got comfort and support from the forum, so thanks to everyone here for helping him.

10 years he battled hard against this disease, it took almost everything but it could not take his spirit.

    Lots of love to everyone

Very sorry for your loss, and my condolences to you, and your family

Your Dad was an active member here offering great advice, and support. He had a great sense of humor, and such a positive attitude always sharing his message of hope, confident that ‘the cure is coming’.

    He will be missed.

Much love, and comfort go out to you.

Thanks for letting us know about Dude. I remember when I first joined the forum that Dude was such a regular contributor, always positive and with good humour in spite of the problems he faced. He helped me to cope with having the disease and I am really sorry to hear that he has passed away.

You have good cause to be proud of him.

      Kind regards. Philip

Thanks CC and Phil for your kind words, Dad was only 69 when he died he had lived a full life tragic at times from losing his best friend when they were both 19 to a road traffic accident. To stopping a security guard from being beaten to death in a armed robbery, he raced banger cars and loved motorbikes. He started his own business from a bedroom at home 30 years ago I still recall the typewriter coming down the stairs one day because it was touch and go. Last year that very same company he started turned over 5 million pounds. We are immensely proud of what he achieved. His biggest achievement was lasting so long and being so brave and courageous in his last fight. Maybe he had had enough of Marquez winning to easily so checked out. Thanks Dudes Son

          Hi Dudes Son;

Sorry to hear of this for both use's and us. He was such a strong character and for a long time bought some much needed optimism to the forum.

We had our differences but they were resolved after a while and then we had a good relationship.

          RIP Dude.

          Love Terry

PS:- If you do compile something of his life's history, we would love to hear it.
TB once said that "The forum is still the best source for friendship and information."

It will only remain so if new people post and keep us updated on things that work or don't work and tips.

Please post on old threads that are of use so that others see them and feel free to start new subjects and threads.

                  Hi Terry, Sue & Ellie,

                  Terry

He had a funny way my old man 'criticise to improve' I worked alongside him for 25 years in the family business so I know how bloody rude and difficult he could be. He would however do anything for anyone.

When we was very poor and needed a new Aerial lead, we made a trip to a derelict row of terraces. Dad got hold of a Aerial lead dangling from one of the what he presumed empty houses waiting for demolition. As we were driving off a little old lady appeared and looked confused to the roof and Aerial. My Dad returned less than 30 minutes later with a ladder some flowers and chocolates and a brand new wire. A trouble causer with a kind heart we will call him or yes a lovable rougue.

He was never one to hold a grudge mainly because he caused most of them lol

Thanks for your kind words and I will post his eulogy very soon. His service and cremation is to take place on the 4th of May at Noon in his home town of Widnes.

He will be missed by all who knew him.

                  Thanks everyone

                  Mark

                      Mark:

Cherish your fond memories. Rather he was a character.
He sounds like he did a remarkable thing: By hard work he built a successful business.
And hopefully left a comfortable legacy for his loved ones along with a rich store of memories.
