i spend most of the Day struggling to get deep breath’s but oxymeter says I am 97’or more? Is it anxiety making it worse as the more i try the harder it is

Jojo1962 in my experience anxiety does play a big part in our breathing. But also because we know breathing plays a big part in mnd we sort of worry that respiratory function is on the decline.

my respiratory is not all oximetry but other tests and symptoms. But 97 is a great score.

Anxiety definitely doesn't help. Try some relaxation techniques. One thing the hot weather and wind will be blowing all kinds of pollutants about which can add to your problems.
when i can think of something profound i will update this.

97 is great 👍 Personally, I think distraction is the key to shift focus on your breathing. Watching an amazing show on Netflix, going to a movie or listening to a cool podcast, or getting into an engrossing book. I’ve found that with anxiety, distraction is the best.

I think in another post you mentioned maybe trying NIV? Even used for shorter periods NIV can help flush out carbon dioxide from your blood. High levels of carbon dioxide (which won't show on an oximeter) can make you feel breathless - and make you feel anxious too! So lowering the levels can make people feel a lot better.

Your pulmonary function test results will give you the answers - when are you due to get them?

Jojo1962 If there is anything worrying in the results, I'm sure you would know by now - you can always contact your doctor and ask.
